Keep Calm ... and just relink EVERYTHING!!

Just give me a minute while I calm down, stop hyperventilating, banging my head against the wall and keening like a professional mourner (drama queen?  Moi?!)  I've just read a story on Irish Genealogy News about the demise of John Grenham's Irish Roots column in the Irish Times, which he bemoans himself on his own website (where he will thankfully carry on delivering his words of wisdom on all things genealogically Irish.)

The really bad news however, is the enlightened eejits of the Irish Times are also going to be evicting his most excellent Irish Ancestors site from their servers.  According to Claire Santry's news story, this won't happen until sometime around April though and it is hoped that all those wonderful pages of advice and invaluable data will find a new home on John's own site too.

So, why am I upset?  Irish Geneaography has hundreds of links to the Irish Ancestors website, particularly embedded within the spreadsheets for Church of Ireland parish registers on every county page.  So, when I finally find out where the data is relocated too, I'm going to have to re-link every single one of them!  If there is a significant gap between the Irish Times eviction and John Grenham getting it all back on-line again, I'm afraid you are going to get a lot of "Page not found" errors too.  I will endeavour to get everything back in shape but it will take some time ... * sigh *!

I'm Ruth and here are my own observations, good, bad and indifferent on all things geographically & genealogically Irish, and occasionally, Scottish.
